The point-slope form is:
[tex]y - k = m(x-h)[/tex]

So, here, you just plug in values:
[tex]y - 5 = 3(x+1)[/tex]

It would be + 1 because remember, the '-' sign just means the opposite of, not subtraction in this case. Also, m = slope.
