The main homeostatically regulated compartment of the body is the extracellular fluid. These fluids are all that can be found outside the cells. It is divided into two categories namely the blood plasma and the interstitial fluid. It is these fluids that would primarily be regulated and controlled in order to maintain certain conditions to allow the body to function.
