how do I solve the system 2x=y-10,x+7=y

[tex]y=x+7\implies 2x=y-10=(x+7)-10\implies x=-3[/tex]

Plug this into either equation (I'll use the second) to find [tex]y[/tex].

[tex]y=-3+7=4[/tex]
