In 16 years, Ben will be 3 times as old as he is now. How old is he?

First, do 16 x 3 to get 48. Then subtract 16 and youll get 32

Say x is how old Ben is now. Ben’s age 16 years from now is the same as 3 times his current age, so:

x + 16 = 3x
2x = 16
x = 8

Ben is 8 years old.
