Liliʻuokalani was the first Queen regnant (Ruled through her own lineage not through a husband) of The Hawaiian Islands. She was from the Honolulu (city), Oahu (island) area of Hawaii.
After she was overthrown through a coup d’etat, the United States was able to take control and ownership of the “Republic of Hawaii”.
