it oxidizes rapidly in air and it reacts with water to form the hydroxide
Lanthanum is normally a solid but it can physically change (melt) at 1,688 (f) and 920 (c). Lanthanum can also physically change (boil) at 6,267 (f), 3,464 (c). I hope this helped :)
